It was
against this cultural background that Alan Tempero founded
the Tempero Coach and Motor Co Ltd in 1946. Alan Tempero was
a qualified coach builder who served his apprenticeship between
the two World Wars. He served with the New Zealand armed forces
in World War 2, returning to his home town in 1945 to resume
his trade.
Alan's
son, Errol, served his apprenticeship in the Company in the
1950s and took over its running upon his father's retirement.
Errol's son Rod also served his apprenticeship in the Company
and is the third generation to work as a Tempero coach builder.
In
recent times the Tempero Company has entered into international
liaisons, with affiliates in North America to further develop
the sales and support of their cars.
