| Jaguar's
famous D-Type is without a doubt one of the most successful
racing cars ever seen. Building on the C-Type's Le Mans victories
in 1951 and 1953, the D-Type became a legend in its own time,
gaining a stranglehold on Le Mans by winning in 1955, 1956 and
1957. |
|
 |
| Today
an original Jaguar D-Type is one of the most valuable and collectible
Jaguars in existence. For example, the 1956 Le Mans winning
car, raced by Ecurie Ecosse, recently sold for 1.7 million English |
| Pounds,
or about US$2.5 million. Prices like this reflect the awe in
which these cars are held but means that ownership is now almost
impossible, even for a well heeled enthusiast. |
| The
Jaguar D-Type is now regarded as an icon and an investment.
Although it was originally designed to race, who can afford
to risk damaging or destroying such a work of art? |
| The
Tempero D-Type is a limited-production, individually crafted
work of art that closely follows Jaguar's design philosophy
and development path. Over the last twenty years we have developed
a car that retains the "look and feel" of the original
D-Type while integrating modern advances in safety items such
as body strength, braking, handling and driveability. |

| Every
car is made to the customer's order so we are flexible and upon
request can build with strict adherence to originality, with
all the inherent differences found in a purely racing car. |
| At
Tempero's we're proud of our craftsmen who reproduce many of
Jaguar's famous cars, C-Type, D-Type, Lightweight E-Type, XJ13
and XK180. All our cars can be based on Jaguar's original specifications,
or upgraded for modern requirements of safety and performance.
|
| Every
car is lovingly and skilfully produced from raw sheet aluminium
using the time honoured coach building processes employed by
Jaguar. |
