Mechanically Jaguar's Lightweight had some significant differences
to the production car, the principal one being the use of an
alloy cylinder block. Unfortunately this was the Achilles's
heel of the car as it was based on the cast iron block but lacked
the rigidity and proved to be unreliable, particularly in longer
races.
As
with all Tempero cars, our emphasis is on toughness and reliability,
so our cars are fitted with the production cast iron 3.8 liter
blocks. All other engine
and mechanical specifications are based on the Tempero D-Type.
Fit
and finish of the Tempero Lightweight E-Type is impeccable.
The interior is fully upholstered with high grade leather seats
and wool carpeting, while extensive use of soundproofing materials
improves the driver's comfort and enjoyment. Various options
are available including racing harnesses, roll-over bars, fuel
cells and so on. These options can be discussed with your Tempero
Reseller at the time of ordering.
